OUR STORY

Nitya Gurukula blossomed from a seed, which had in its DNA, compassion and urge to connect, grow and spread vitality and warmth to different populations, including individuals from diverse castes, religions and status. The fertile grounds for NG’s rooting and growth were the clients, trainees and well-wishers, who weathered odds and nourished NG with their faith and willingness to receive and grow beyond their patterns. Transactional Analysis was and is the life-giving water which continues to sustain and regulate NG.
Nitya Guru, known as Nitya Chaitanya Yati, like the sun, infused NG DNA, with brilliance & vibrance. Nitya Guru’s ideologies and philosophy of The Guru Within and East-West Synthesis embedded in NG, continues to influence all facets of Its People Work. From a trickle in 2002 NG’s flow in counselling, training, supervision and workshops has been slow, smooth and continuous drawn by the expressed and unexpressed needs of clients, trainees and seekers. CEO Sashi Chandran used Transactional Analysis for 2 plus decades with different groups like the
- Inmates of Nirmal Hriday home for ‘dying destitutes’ and Remand Home for 'juvenile delinquents',
- Cancer patients and their families in Coimbatore Cancer Foundation,
- Students, faculty, parents and management of educational institutions like ALG Matriculation and Vivekalaya,
- Workers, staff and executives of industries.
These TA applications provided CEO tools and strategies to indigenise Transactional Analysis to multi-cultural groups. NG was formally inaugurated in 2004 by Fr. George Kandathil TSTA * (Founder director of ICTA-Institute for Counselling & Transactional Analysis, Kalamassery). NG services, namely Counselling, Training in Counselling and TA, Supervision and Workshops continued to root and ground in Coimbatore.
CEO began attending Tai Chi sessions from 2002, intrigued by the flow of movements combined with breathing- a meditation in motion. Following painful experimentation with different approaches, Dr. Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Health Institute TCHI provided the much-needed scientific approach in Tai Chi. It blended with NG’s Holistic Approach, which factors in biological, affective, cognitive, behavioural, social and spiritual dimensions of individuals.

Sashi is the head and tail of Nitya Gurukula - CEO. She is a psychologist, counsellor, research scholar & is certified as Training Supervising Transactional Analyst (TSTA).
